The details that matter, in plain language.
Pricing, timing, data handling, warranty and what happens next — without vague promises or hidden conditions.
Before the repair
We confirm any diagnostic fee in writing before assessment begins, so you know the position before the device is opened. If advanced bench or board-level diagnostics require an additional amount, that is confirmed separately. No paid repair work starts without your approval.
Yes. After diagnosis, you receive a written quotation explaining the fault, the proposed work and the total price. Nothing is repaired and no part is fitted until you approve it. If we uncover something materially different after opening the device, we pause and request fresh approval before continuing.
Turnaround depends on the device, fault and parts required. Routine battery and display work is generally faster than board-level repair, liquid-damage recovery or data recovery. After diagnosis, we give you a realistic timeframe in writing and update you if that timeframe changes.
The available part options depend on the device and repair. Before approval, your quotation identifies the recommended option, its source or quality category where applicable, and the warranty attached to it. We do not substitute a different part after approval without informing you.
Your device and data
Not unless the repair requires it and you have authorised access. Devices are handled by assigned technicians, and personal data is not opened simply to inspect the hardware. If testing requires a passcode or access to a specific function, we explain why before requesting it.
Not for every repair. Hardware diagnosis can often begin without it. A passcode may be required for post-repair testing of functions such as cameras, speakers, charging, Face ID or connectivity. If access is needed, we request it directly and explain what will be tested.
Sometimes — but no responsible technician can guarantee the outcome before inspection. Liquid continues causing corrosion after the surface appears dry, so time matters. Switch the device off, disconnect it from power and do not repeatedly test it, heat it or place it in rice. We first assess whether the priority should be restoring the device, recovering the data, or both.
In many cases, yes. Data recovery can be treated as a separate objective when returning the device to everyday use is not practical or economical. We assess the storage, logic board and encryption state, then explain the recovery path, risks and charges before proceeding. Recovery is never guaranteed before diagnosis.
It can. Apple's warranty and AppleCare terms determine whether existing coverage remains valid, and independent work may affect coverage for the repaired component or related damage. If your device may still qualify for Apple service, check that option before approving independent repair. We will never tell you otherwise simply to win the job.
After the repair
Every eligible completed repair is returned with a written warranty covering the parts fitted and the workmanship performed. The exact period depends on the repair and is stated on your quotation and repair report. The warranty does not cover unrelated faults, later impact damage, new liquid exposure, misuse or work performed by another provider after collection.
We explain what was tested, what failed and why further repair is not recommended. No additional work proceeds without your approval. Where relevant, we can discuss data recovery, replacement or trade-in options. Any diagnostic charge that still applies must have been disclosed before the assessment began.
Collection and return arrangements, service area, timing and any courier charge are confirmed with you before the booking is finalised. Business clients may arrange scheduled or consolidated collections under their service agreement.
Business support
Yes. Approved business-support clients can receive priority intake, a named contact and service commitments agreed around their operating needs. Priority intake reduces avoidable delay, but it does not override the diagnostic, parts or testing requirements needed to complete the repair properly.
Explore business support →Yes. Ultim8 can structure support for company equipment, employee-owned Apple devices, or a combination of both. The programme can define eligibility, intake channels, billing responsibility, pickup arrangements, response expectations and reporting before launch.
Explore employee repair partnerships →Business arrangements can include a named technical contact, repair history, asset-level documentation and agreed reporting. The exact structure depends on the size of the device fleet and the service framework agreed with your team.
Ask before you commit.
Tell a technician what is happening with your device. We'll explain the sensible next step before you book.
